About Us

The Border Press has been family-owned and operated since 1960 when Jim Rochester and his father Hiram started a small letterpress shop in the quaint village of Rouses Point. The pair worked side-by-side using hand set type to produce some of the best quality printing of the time.

Today, The Border Press continues to be a successful family business. Jim still works full-time with the help of son Daniel, daughter Elaine and grandson Duncan.

The company now uses offset/letterpress and digital printing, and specializes in one to four color printing. Product size ranges up to 12 x 18.

Our Mission

We believe in giving our customers exceptional value, quality, service and a fair price, and we uphold these principles for every order. We also provide personalized service to our customers, something large printing companies cannot always do.

We offer in-house typesetting and design at reasonable pricing.

Our designs are created to provide a professional looking product with a style to suit your business.

We accept typed copy for styling or can typeset it from your written copy. Just tell us your visual concept and we will provide it in print.

Proofs are provided with each set up.

Specialty Service - Hand Set Type

This method of printing is ancient. We still use our letterpress everyday, primarily for numbering and perforating.

We can also print with this process because it is rarely used today. The embossed feeling you get will make your job unique. We still use hand set removable type for this method of print.

We can copy any size up to 12" x 18".

From 20 16 bond to 300 gsm cover on matte or gloss stock.

We use a Xerox 700 Digital Press for ALL our copies. This machine has a ultra high 2400 x 2400 dpi resolution.
